Autumn Dreams
Well, I think I am ready to say the words, I'm looking forward to Autumn. September 22, is when this special and magical time of the year begins.
What I would like to do is take a trip to Maine and really find a place to settle. As much as I love New Jersey, and it's been our home for many years, it's time for us to try a new world, a more relaxed and down to earth kind of life. I'm tired of the strip malls, franchises, and traveling roads that are a never ending trail of bumper to bumper traffic. I know most of our friends and neighbors tend to head south but our hearts and desires are to head north where the air is crisp, the stores are still small and locally run, the roads are long and winding. Where the ocean hugs the cliffs and beaches along the coastline. The pine trees are proud of their scent, and the rivers and streams gently roar through the countryside.
So maybe next year will be the year that you'll see me posting from our home somewhere in the beautiful countryside of Maine. I want to learn to farm and we can, and maybe add a few chickens & roosters to roam around, maybe even a dog to sit on our porch!
I believe dreams can come true.

Oh My Dear Patty,
Your words are sweet poetry. I have never been East. It sounds like a dream. I would like to follow you there.
I do love the summer and am sad to see it leave so soon. I love autumn, but dread the cold that will be here before I am ready.
I really like what you have done to your blog. I need some changes too.
I know, isn't Jeannie just the cutest little bugger? I wanted her so bad too! But we already have 3 doggies, and even tho Molly is 11 and may not have a whole lot of time left with us, that's ENOUGH doggies! LOL!
Your dream of Maine sounds wonderful. I hope you get there my friend! As a damn Yankee, there are days I dream of the clean, crisp air of the Adirondack Mountains, where I grew up, in a much simpler place and time. Back then, snowstorms socked you in for days on end and you were challenged to amuse yourself, at home, with family only. Like I said, a MUCH simpler place and time. It's much too hot for me here in the South, and for hubby too who was raised in the West Virginia mountains. There are days I wish we could live off the land and forget the whole crazy, insane world.
Hugging you,
Mary
Patty,
I too love Maine and wish you much success finding your dream home there! Just remember to put an H in front of your R's and you'll fit right in with your neighbors. i.e. Bar Harbor is pronounced Bah Hahbor. (just teasing a little)
Your site is really beautiful, I love stopping by!
hugs,
Doreen
